So last night I had this crazy dream. In my dream, I was coming down to Atlanta and when I got to town I called a bunch of you jokers, but when I called Mike I got a message that his cell phone service had been disconnected. I asked Dave and Todd but neither of them had heard from Mike in a while.

Fast forward to a few days later (in dream time, somehow I just skipped ahead a few days) and I was up at the Lindbergh Plaza shopping center over where the K-Mart used to be, when this homeless guy came riding up on a skateboard. He had on tight-fitting plaid pants, a hunter green windbreaker a huge bushy beard and wild, unbrushed hair. His clothes were dirty and grimy, and the dude smelled bad from a few feet away.

I looked at him and immediately knew it was Mike. Somehow, Mike had become a homeless bum.

I remember wondering whether or not I should go up and talk to him, because he looked really bad off and obviously his life had gone to hell. I felt sorry for him — because it was Mike, you know — but I thought he may be embarrassed by the state his life had fallen into. So I didn’t talk to him.

Anyway, I relate this story as a warning, to all of us, but especially to Mike. Don’t become a homeless bum. And if you do, Mike, don’t go to K-Mart.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Andruw Jones has added five pounds of muscle and is up to 230, while Jeff Francoeur is up to 225 from 217 last season. The two players were among Braves taking part in an informal hitting session Wednesday at Turner Field.

Shame…on me…for missing the Knicks game the other day. Not that it makes it any better, but I had every intention of going. Unfortunately, I got back too late from work, and it was too late to offer the tickets to anyone else. I did, however, watch a lot of the game on TV. And I exercised my fan muscles (if you know what I mean) with some thunderstick banging while I watched.
