Well, the Hawks are temporarily back to their winning ways as they defeated the Hornets after knocking off Boston on the road the night before. This was a strange game in that it lacked intensity. It kind of teetered back and forth, with the Hawks holding a lead of 4-6 points for most of the game. Neither team went on any major runs and when one team went cold, the other team would as well. The 4th quarter just kind of came and went, with the Hawks basically standing their ground and not doing anything to shoot themselves in the foot. Al and JJ had good games, but nothing really stood out. No Chris Paul for NO, which was disappointing. Speedy Claxton had 29 points, which speaks volumes about our defense of the guard position.

I received 7 tickets from my dad’s work; however, I only found one person to come with us. I ended up giving them away at the game, but it took me a good 10-15 minutes to find someone who needed them. There was virtually no walk-up for this one and an announced crowd of 11,000 was probably about 3000 more than were actually there. The cops also made me leave the ticket sales area and told me that I’m not even allowed to give them away, similar to what Steve witnessed at the Peach Bowl.

This was Ismail and I’s 9th game; I have tickets for the 14th and 16th then not again until February 25th. I need a break from the games as i’m starting to get burned out. At least i’ve seen 5 wins and the four losses have all been close games.
